This would be funny if it wasn’t sad.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying Joe’s a saint. He’s no more “innocent” than a standard politician, ie Bush Jr, Obama, Clinton, Reagan, Newt, Ryan, Cheney, Warren, Obama… etc, he’s there for the right reasons.

Christie is cut from the right side of the same cloth. They’re all “mostly harmless”. They started their political careers wanting to make the country a better place. They’re respectful so they deserve respect. They all have their own ideas. Some are sensible, some questionable. They make mistakes as humans do. They have momentary lapses in judgement. They get their priorities confused from time to time and get worked up when battling semantics. But on topics that are both immediate and threatening to the nation they were always able to shelve it for a moment and do what’s right so they could get back to bickering.

Trump is different. I understand the desire to “Drain the Swamp”. But it didn’t take long for most to realize that Trump was the wrong person for the job. As a country, we underestimated both his narcissism and the gullibility of the American people.

He showed up as if he were King. Not a day goes by where he doesn’t do something to make sure everyone knows how little respect he has for the country, it’s people, and its institutions. He’s thrown nearly everyone that’s served him under the bus at the drop of a hat and has turned the party of family values into a cesspool, tossing out Reagan’s 11th Commandment and replacing it with the 12th, All Commandments are subject to my whims and thou shalt submit or be persecuted.
